K-1 has been beside S101 and B-B since Starbot's earliest days, indeed the three of them were the centre of Starbotian power for centuries. It hasn't all been plain sailing for K-1 though, a mental illness caused by circuit damage forced him to maroon B-B during a Tarbotian attack, S101 exiled his friend who descended deeper into madness before finally being rescued when S101 realised K-1 was not in control of his own actions.
After the downfall of S101 K-1 was been promoted to Military Commander. He has retained his role during the reign of K-2 and in the new regime of S101.
