The most dangerous threat to the Dinos and Ronald's rule over the last 10 years hasn't been another foreign power it has been the son of his best friend. MBH grew up surrounded by heroes and was expected to follow his father GBH to be a leader of the next generation. However MBH began to resent others he saw as inferior like Smellyson move ahead of him in the pecking order.
MBH launched a coup trying to kill Ronald. He failed and went on the run, even for a time being a leader in the HCS. Although he was later captured he managed to avoid prison by turning to politics and intrigue. One plot to kill Ronald appeared to succeed and MBH became the new Emperor though Ronald's return meant that the two had to rule jointly. MBH soon tired of sharing power so tried to kill Ronald again, this time MBH was marooned into the far future.
MBH managed to find a way back but with Ronald introducing democracy MBH decided to try and take power legally (well more legally than assassination anyway), he has served as Consul and is now a senior member of the Senate. MBH is, with Ronald, one of the true leaders of the Republic and now appears to have accepted sharing the limelight with Ronald until The Anointed One retires. MBH, known as The Chosen One, for a time aimed to destroy the establishment but now has largely become the establishment.
MBH has unparalleled skills at intrigue and plotting. He lacks Ronald's megapowers but makes up with cunning and charisma and is highly dangerous. He largely has the SS under his control and the shadowy SS-CINT does his bidding and in the past has held tremendous influence over the Bolitic Emperor. MBH may run as Consul again soon but it will merely make his rule of the Dinos official. Very little happens in the Republic without the agreement of MBH and Ronald however MBH was unsuccessful in the 2112 Consul election.
In latter years MBH has come to an agreement with Ronald, he is now Emperor with Ronald acting as a counterweight to MBH's excesses. However, MBH appears to have matured to have become a (fairly) responsible leader.
