Benito came to prominence as the best tank commander in the HCS during the Clone Wars and rose to one of the most senior positions in the CSE. New Rome was his project, having led the attack on Earth and later ruling the province. He was later stiffed when New Rome was repatriated to the UNP without his knowledge and instead he was given Austini 55.
Benito's resentment for Oojok rose and he launched an unsuccessful military coup, later forced to go on the run. Later he returned and seized power in (what became) CSE-E. After the unsuccessful civil war he agreed with Captain Clone (who had usurped Oojok) to share the empire.
When Oojok replaced Captain Clone the power sharing deal with Benito remained in place although Oojok gradually grew weary of him. Finally Oojok's son Terin hatched a plot to kill Benito in a massive explosion.
