Many years ago a religious sect called the New Cross headed off into deep space to find a new home, unfortunately they found the Bolitic instead and were turned into slave soldiers. When Windy was sent to track down the New Cross he finally followed the trail to Smolask where the last of the New Cross were dying in the endless Bolitic civil wars. Albert Owens is thought to have been the last survivor who died just as Windy found him.
