Torus has flown under the radar a lot during her career, she was a close friend of The Orchid but after the latter's death was not seen much. Torus is known for her fierce loyalty to the DDS and Firefly rewarded her for this by making her head of the new ISSF Department in his new regime. Later on she was promoted to being Knobhead's deputy.
When Knobhead became DDS Commander Torus again was promoted to lead all of DDS operations. In essence Torus became part of the triumvirate with Knobhead and Windy which ruled the DDS for a time.
Torus was considered the next leader after Knobhead but was demoted following intelligence failures, Windy bought her back into the fold to head the NS intelligence service. After Caratore's unveiling as a spy she was promoted back to head all NS operations.
Because of some as-yet unspecified injury in her past Torus cannot speak naturally and relies on a voice synthesiser. She also has an artificial arm and other implants. She is in a relationship with Kalifei.
She became Windy's deputy and heir apparent and in 2121 was elected NS President. She has even been formally adopted by Windy as his daughter.
