The Hoplite is an intellectual (or so he claims), he is attached to Team Redjec though appears to hate his comrades (the feeling is mutual). He claimed for a long time to have a girlfriend though he never met her. Ramp revealed that "she" was really a trucker from Montana called Steve who manipulated Hoplite to perform sex acts on a web cam.

When he first joined the DDS he used the name Socrates and had a different helmet design. He did not endear himself to his colleagues though by continually correcting their grammar.
